An audition with the characters of ‘Dolittle’

As important as the protagonist of a movie is the selection of the best cast; This will allow history to flow and become an unforgettable experience. In the new version of ‘Dolittle’, Robert Downey Jr. is in charge of giving life to the famous doctor and next to him will be a cast of friendly animals that were carefully chosen through an audition.

In Fandango we present this particular casting, in addition to the description of several characters, so you can see that ‘Dolittle’ is one of the must-see films of this season.

"Poly" is Dolittle's oldest friend, besides being his conscience. Apart from his late wife, he is the only one who could call him "John." This vain and elegant parrot is credited with having presented the doctor with Lily, who took him to the mansion to examine a problem with one of his claws. The voice in English was set by the legendary actress Emma Thompson and the dubbing for Latin America was performed by Regina Orozco.

Jip's nose is very developed due to his poor eyesight, so much so that he can hardly see without his thick glasses. This faithful canine has the task of watching Queen Victoria while Dolittle seeks a cure for the disease that afflicts her. Brave, protective and wildly loyal to his companions, he is the best guard dog. The original version has the voice of Tom Holland and the Latin American dubbing was done by youtuber Andrés Navy.

Dab-Dab is a leg, warm and loving, although she does not stand out for being the most talented nurse. It is the only bird in the world with a wooden leg. Dab-Dab is forgetful but also very loyal to his family. Octavia Spencer lent her voice to this character in the original version while Argentina's Dania Gutmann did it in Latin American dubbing.

Unaware that he cannot fly or swim, Plimpton is a great ostrich that sometimes puts problems to serve as Dolittle's faithful steed. Usually this nervous bird remains with its head tucked into a pot. The original voice of this character was put by the Pakistani actor Kumail Nanjiani and for Latin America the Mexican conductor Faisy made the dubbing.
